Matt Wanderer


Serial Inc500 Entrepreneur

EpicMD is led by California native, Matt Wanderer whose vision for EpicMD began in 2010 during a business school module in India where he saw virtual healthcare helping people who would otherwise never receive the care they needed. Prior to founding EpicMD, Matt was a co-founder at Alterra Capital Group and, he served as Founder & CEO of RestoreHealth and serves on the Board of Directors at ServRX with both of his healthcare companies earning top spots in the INC. 500 Fastest Growing Companies of: 2012, 2013, and 2014 and 2015. Matt earned his MBA at the NYU Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and HEC Paris.

Sylvan M. Waller, MD, FACEP

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Waller is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and executive with a passion for innovation and leveraging technology to improve healthcare. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Waller oversees all areas of the company’s medical operations, service offerings, including physician recruitment, training, certification and on-boarding; all aspects of patient care; and future medical service strategy, quality and implementation.

Daniel McDyer, MD

ACOG Section Chairman

Dr. Daniel McDyer is an Obsterician/Gynecologist and has been in private practice since completing his residency in 1994. He is currently the Treasurer and a Board member of the largest group of OB/GYN’s in Florida which consists of over 370 OB/GYN’s and 100-plus mid-level providers. He is also Chairman-Elect of Section 2, District 12 of the American College of OB/GYN’s. In addition to his passion to provide outstanding care and education to his patients, his interests include integrating processes and beneficial technologies into the healthcare practice that enhance efficiencies, patient outcomes and experiences.

Richard Boxer, MD

Richard Boxer, M.D. is Clinical Professor of Urology at UCLA, University of Wisconsin, and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was the previously the CMO for another telehealth company for seven years and has twice been named among the top doctors in America. Dr. Boxer has written over 40 scientific articles and book chapters, has won a national award for cancer research, and was awarded a Presidential Citation from the American Urological Association for excellence in Urology. He represented the U.S. at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland in 1997, and has twice been a finalist for the position of Surgeon General of the United States.

Greg Nakagawa

Greg is a high-tech industry refugee, with 20+ years in the high-tech sector before moving on to the wellness and healthcare arena in 2007. He started in sales with IBM, before moving to Acer during its launch into the US market, heading up US marketing and major account sales. At Dell, he ran the $3B mobile computing group and Internet line of business, and was the youngest divisional president ever at Sharp Electronics. In the healthcare space, Greg has founded and led several successful start-up companies, including two $100M+ healthcare businesses under the auspices of PerMed Holdings LLC, for which he remains as Chairman before joining EpicMD.

Jose Barboza

VP Finance and Operations

As VP of Finance and Operations, Jose Barboza is responsible for the financial stewardship of the company, including capital and operating budgets, financial affairs, reporting, operations, procurement and debt/treasury management. Prior to joining EpicMD, Jose was responsible for the financial and administrative operations of Chaban Wellness, LLC including capital and debt acquisition and overseeing operations, logistics, product development and contract/vendor management. Additionally, Jose holds 15 years of experience in the healthcare and information technology industries at the Florida Department of Health. Jose is also an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Lindsay Haddock

VP of Technology

Former Abbott, Herbalife

Responsible for the technology vision and product roadmap, Lindsay brings technical capability and strategic thinking to the EpicMD solution. She has 12+ years in technology with a broad background in mobile, web, infrastructure and direct sales along with over 7 years experience focused in the Healthcare and Health & Wellness industries. Previously she has been at Abbott Vascular and Herbalife Nutrition where she managed Herbalife Nutrition’s mobile e-commerce applications globally.

Elan Shanker

With over 15 years experience building web-based software and telemedicine solutions, Elan guides the technical and product direction for EpicMD. As co-founder of Consult A Doctor, Inc., Elan led the creation of innovative consumer-directed telemedicine solutions providing on-demand medical consultations over the phone and online. Consult A Doctor was listed among Entrepreneur magazine's top 10 hot startups in 2010 and was acquired by Teladoc in 2013. More recently, Elan has been leading software engineering teams at Akamai, working with their suite of internet security solutions.

Paul Squire

Paul has extensive experience representing health care entities in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, and other transactions, as well as insurance regulatory, Medicare, managed care and reinsurance issues. He represents a wide range of health care entities such as medical practices, hospitals, third-party administrators, health care information technology companies, managed care companies, pharmaceutical companies and others in connection with corporate and health care issues. He also has extensive experience advising clients in the areas of healthcare information technology, telemedicine and telehealth issues.

Shanyn Cline

Shanyn is responsible for planning, designing, and executing go-to-market positioning and strategies; while developing a strong brand identity for EpicMD. Previously, she has led marketing and sales teams at Trunk Club, acquired by Nordstrom and has experience as a Marketing Consultant for startups and agencies in Chicago.

Diego Lucero

Diego has an extensive background in marketing, advertising, web development and graphic design. Creative director of a marketing agency for 8 years and leading the UX and graphic design department of an LVMH digital company for 3 years, Diego is a goal driven person with the right solution for any marketing and design needs.

Edgar Lamela

Chief Brand Strategy & Innovation

Former Unilever, Verizon, Procter & Gamble

Edgar’s commercial background has been built from a solid base of sales, managing key accounts for companies like Procter & Gamble and then complemented with a rocketing marketing career at Unilever, going from local brand manager to managing Personal Care portfolio for many countries in Latam. Then he mastered technology product management when he was in charge of innovation roadmap and content platforms at Verizon's most important Latin American subsidiary. In recent years, Edgar has been involved in the development of products and technologies capable of harnessing the exponential growth of the direct selling world.

Devan Thorne is a Director of Member Experience. His past career accomplishments include managing two multi-million dollar companies in hair care and health and nutrition. He loves the University of Utah where he attended. You will find him at the beach often with is wife, Emily.

Dov Szapiro

Dov graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and started his career as a analyst in private equity and research in New York. His financial experience includes successes such as co-founding Star Auto Finance and leading the merger with Autobank Acceptance Corp and FrontRunner Finance to form AFS Acceptance. Under his leadership, AFS was named finalist in Florida’s Best Place to Work and made the INC. 5000 list two consecutive years. Mr. Szapiro serves as managing partner on investment companies and also he’s member of the Board of Directors of local and multinational corporations.

He spent his first eight years learning the fundamentals of business administration and sales growth at a billion dollar company (Nuskin Ent.) and then left to start his own furniture company while working as an independent rep for another networking company. He began companies at the ground floor level, from CoreVital, to Zrii, LifeVantage and currently EpicMD.
