EpicMD is led by California native, Matt Wanderer who has now been listed three times in the top ranks of the INC 500 for various companies he has founded.
Built to remedy the challenges of access, cost and convenience in US healthcare; EpicMD was first inspired while on a trip to Southern India in 2010. While earning his MBA with the NYU Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and HEC Paris, Matt had an unforgettable opportunity to visit with the leadership of Apollo Hospitals India. During that visit, he saw first-hand the power of mobile health care, and was introduced to a concept that would forever shape his vision for the future of healthcare delivery. Matt saw that through the use of mobile care units, satellite link and remote video technology, Apollo could treat patients in remote villages up to 1000 miles away. Remotely, a surgeon could safely perform hundreds of minor medical procedures a day, all at a fraction of the cost of an in-person procedure. The practice of virtual healthcare in India opened doors to people who would otherwise never receive the help they needed.
After returning from India, Matt dove straight into the world of health technology, founding the nation’s leading personalized medicine company, RestoreHealth. By 2014, the company had become the 8th fastest growing private company in America. In spite of its success, Matt had never been able to shake that calling from India, and still yearned for an opportunity to share with the US, the company he had been visioning since 2010, one that could alleviate economic pressure on the U.S. health care system as a whole while providing Americans with a new level of patient convenience. In 2015, Restore Health was sold allowing Matt the freedom to focus full-time on that vivid spark— and on the journey that is Epic Health.
